음악을 통해 삶을 노래하는 기타리스트 김준범
기타리스트 김준범은 2016년, 뉴욕에서의 3년간의 공부를 마치고 귀국 후 한국 재즈신에서 현재 활발히 활동 중인 연주자이다. 귀국 후, 2016년 제8회 자라섬 국제 재즈 콩쿨에서 BEST SOLOIST 상을 수상하였으며, 올해 1월에는 본인의 첫 정규앨범인 <HUMAN EMOTIONS>를 발매하였다. 뉴욕에 있는 기간 동안 김준범은 the Bar Next Door, Le Possisson Rounge, Rockwood Music Hall 등 여러 클럽에서 연주했으며, 2015년 11월에는 Carnegie Hall에서 “Lyrics in Korean History” 프로젝트에 참여하여 무대에 서기도 하였다. 또, Antonio Hart와 같은 거장과 함께 무대에 섰으며, 유명한 재즈 라디오 방송국인 WBGO(88.3FM)에서 주최하는 JAM LIVE 2014에 참여하여 연주하기도 하였다.
이번 자라섬 재즈 페스티벌에서는 작년 콩쿨에서 함께 했던 베이시스트 고재규, 드러머 스티브 프루잇, 색소포니스트 이용석과 함께 하며, 그의 앨범 수록곡들을 연주할 예정이다. 2017년 1월에 발매된 그의 첫 앨범 <HUMAN EMOTIONS>은 제목에서도 엿볼 수 있 듯 연주자 본인이 일상생활에서 느낌 감정을 모아 만든 곡들로 채워져 있다. 모두 자작곡들이며 사람들에게 느꼈던 감사, 상황에서 오는 무기력, 기대와 두려움, 희망, 쓸쓸함, 그리고 익살스러웠던 옛 경험에 대한 추억 등과 같은 인간의 보편적인 감정을 그의 자전적인 경험을 통해 풀어내고 있다. 음악을 통해 삶을 노래하고 싶다 라고 말하는 연주자, 진솔하고 따뜻한 음악을 듣고 싶은 분이라면 김준범 쿼텟을 꼭 기억해두자.
Singing life with music, guitarist Junboem Kim
Guitarist Junbeom Kim is an active performer at the Korean jazz scene since 2016, after finishing his 3-year study in New York City.
After coming back to Korea, Kim was awarded as the BEST SOLOIST at the 8th Jarasum International Jazz Concurs in 2016, and released his fist regular album <HUMAN EMOTIONS> in January 2017.
While staying in New York City he performed at various clubs such as the Bar Next Door, Le Possisson Rounge, and Rockwood Music Hall, also was on Carnegie Hall stage participating ‘Lyrics in Korean History’ project in November 2015.
He once performed with maestro Antonio Hart and played music at the famous jazz radio station WBGO(88.3FM) ‘JAM LIVE 2014’. At this year’s Jarasum International Jazz Festival, he plans to perform the music from his album with bassist Jaehyu Ko, drummer Steve Pruitt, and saxophonist Youngseok Lee, who performed together at last year’s Concurs stage.
As presenting its title, his first album <HUMAN EMOTIONS> is full of music with his emotions.
All music pieces in his album were composed by himself, he explained common feelings from his experiences such as thankfulness to others, numbness coming from situations, expectations and fear, loneness, and fun memory from the past with music.
