17인조 풀밴드 편성의 완성도 높은 재즈 오케스트라 사운드로
냇킹콜의 주옥같은 명곡을 만나는 시간
2012년 창단한 동아방송예술대학교 재즈 오케스트라는 재즈클럽 공연 및 각종 행사 등
다양한 활동을 펼쳐왔다.
현재는 오재철 라지앙상블 리더인 오재철의 편곡과 지도 아래 새로운 팀 사운드의 방향을
모색하며 한층 더 발전된 모습을 꾀하고 있다.
동아방송예술대학교 재즈 오케스트라는 풀 빅밴드 편성인 17인조 구성의
풍성하고 웅장한 사운드를 자랑하는 한편, 플룻 클라리넷 등 다양한 악기 구성으로
특별한 음색의 텍스쳐를 지니고 있다. 또, 뛰어난 리듬 섹션의 연주가 어우러져
완성도 높은 재즈 오케스트라의 사운드를 들려준다. 특히 이번 자라섬 공연은
냇킹콜 탄생 100주년을 기념한 것으로, 'Unforgettable', 'L-O-V-E' 등
냇킹콜의 주옥같은 레파토리를 리더인 오재철의 편곡으로 만나볼 수 있다.
주로 스몰 그룹으로 활동했던 냇킹콜의 곡들을 재즈오케스트라로 어떻게 재해석했는지
비교하며 듣는 것이 감상 포인트가 될 것이다.

Meet Nat King Cole's gem-like music pieces
The Jazz Orchestra of DONG-AH INSTITUTE OF MEDIA AND ARTS (DIMA), which was established in 2012,
has performed various activities such as jazz clubs and various events.
Currently, the leader Oh Jae Cheol is pursuing further development of the team
by looking for a new sound direction with his guidance and arrangements.
The DIMA Jazz Orchestra is proud of a rich and grand sound of a 17-piece full-bass band with a variety of musical instruments, including flute clarinet
for special tone to the music. In addition, the excellent rhythm section is
accompanied by a complete jazz orchestra sound.
In particular, this year in Jarasumjazz, the orchestra’s performance
will commemorates the 100th anniversary of Nat King Cole's birth.
The audience will meet Nat King Cole's gem-like repertoire
such as 'Unforgettable' and 'L-O-V-E'
with the arrangement of the leader Oh Jae Cheol.
It will be a point of appreciation to hear how Nat King Cole’s pieces,
mainly performed as a small group, reinterpreted into the jazz orchestra.
