신아람 트리오는 재즈 피아니스트 신아람을 주축으로 베이시스트 조민기와 드러머 박정환이 함께 하는 트리오이다. 리더인 피아니스트 신아람은 <월간 재즈피플>에서 ‘재즈 라이징 스타-피아노 부문’에 선정되었으며, 다양한 연주와 자작곡들을 대중들에게 선보이고 있다. 베이시스트 조민기는 재즈씬에서 주목받는 콘트라 베이시스트이며 드러머 박정환은 재즈 뿐 아니라 다양한 음악장르에서도 왕성하게 활동 중인 드러머이다.
이들은 2015년 1집 앨범 [Obtain]을 함께 발매하였으며, 2018년에는 2집 앨범 [Breath]을 발매하였다. 기존 1집 앨범의 음악은 클래식과 재즈를 기반으로 한 신아람의 자작곡들이 주를 이룬 반면, 올해 발표한 2집 앨범은 전작에 비해 재즈의 색이 좀 더 강조되었으며, 자작곡 외에도 Standard Jazz와 Jazz Hiphop 등이 함께 수록되어 좀 더 다채로운 음악을 들려준다. 또, 곡 제목에 한글을 사용하여 대중들의 이해를 돕고 쉽게 공감할 수 있도록 노력한 것 역시 1집과 다른 2집 앨범의 특징이라 볼 수 있다. 올해 자라섬 무대에서는 1집과 2집 앨범에 수록된 곡들을 함께 선보이며 자라섬을 찾은 음악팬들에게 신아람 트리오만의 트랜디한 재즈 사운드를 선사할 예정이다.
Shin Aram Trio is a trio with drummer Junghwan Park and bassist Minki Cho with a jazz pianist Ahram Shin. Leader pianist Ahram Shin was selected as the <Jazz Rising Star - Piano Division> by <Monthly Jazz People> and presents various performances and compositions to the public. Bassist Minki Cho is a contra bassist who gets attention in jazz scene and drummer Junghwan Park is a drummer who is active not only in jazz but also in various musical genres.
They released their first album [Obtain] in 2015 and released their second album [Breath] in 2018. The first album is based on classic and jazz-based compositions by Ahram Shin, while the second album released this year is more emphasized on jazz than the previous one. In addition to its own music, Standard Jazz and Jazz Hiphop pieces are included, so the audience can listen to more colorful music. Also, the effort to help the public understand and easily sympathize with the music title using Korean is also another characteristic of the 2nd album compare to the first. In this year's Jarasum stage, the trio will show the music from the 1st and 2nd album together and present the new trendy jazz sound of Ahram Shin Trio to fans who will visit Jarasum.
