윤혜진은 한국의 1호 재즈 플루티스트로서 동덕여대 실용음악과를 단과대학 수석 입학, 수석 졸업한 후 장학생으로 미국의 재즈 명문 인디애나 음대에 입학해 Jazz Studies 석사를 졸업했다. 인디애나 재학 시절 재즈와 클래식을 같이 공부하며 음악의 깊이를 더했으며 블루밍턴과 뉴욕에 거주하며 다양한 재즈 워크샵 참여와 연주 활동을 한 후 귀국해 새로운 재즈팀 결성에 뜻을 같이 한 최정상의 재즈 뮤지션들과 ‘윤혜진과 브라더스’를 결성했다. 번뜩이는 창의성을 가진 재즈 팀을 만들겠다는 신념으로 작곡, 편곡, 그리고 연주에서 ‘재즈 플룻’이 보여줄 수 있는 스펙트럼을 극대화하며 새로운 시도를 해 오고 있는 윤혜진은 피아노 임미정, 기타 이수진, 베이스 김인영, 드럼 오상목과 함께 탄탄한 팀워크를 바탕으로 장르를 넘나드는 다채롭고 독창적인 음악 세계를 만들어 가고 있다.
윤혜진은 다양한 재즈 팀에서의 활동뿐만 아니라 브라질 음악 팀 ‘Tudo Bem(aka Desejo Insatisfeito/욕구불만’의 리더로도 활동 중이며 루시드폴, 존박, 윤종신, Kai 등의 앨범 녹음과 윤도현, 박정현, 박혜경, 거미, 에일리 등과의 연주 등 폭넓은 음악 활동을 해 오고 있다. 2017년 여름에는 윤혜진과 브라더스의 첫 앨범 [Hyejin Yoon & Brothers JazzFlutism]을 발매하며 평단의 호평을 받았다.
올해 자라섬 무대에서는 아름다운 지구별에서 경이로운 우주까지 그려내는 1집 수록곡뿐만 아니라 새로운 우주에 관한 곡도 선보인다. 풍부하고 깊은 톤으로 견고한 클래식의 토대 위에 거침없이 재즈의 언어로 그림을 그려나가는 윤혜진. 그리고 화성과 리듬 위에서 춤을 추듯 유려한 플레이를 하는 임미정, 장르를 초월하는 사운드 메이킹 감각을 지닌 이수진, 탄탄하고 묵직하면서도 화려한 테크닉을 구사하는 김인영, 따뜻함과 냉정함을 넘나드는 노련한 인터플레이와 폭발하는 에너지를 가진 오상목까지 다섯 멤버가 하나로 호흡하는 무대는 관객들에게 행복을 선사할 예정이다.
As a 1st jazz flutist in Korea, Hyejin Yoon entered and graduated from the Department of Practical Music at Dongduk Women's University as top student, and graduated from Jazz Studies with a scholarship to Indiana University. While studying jazz and classics at Indiana, she added a lot of depth to her music. She lived in Bloomington and New York, participated in various jazz workshops, played music and returned to Korea to play with the best jazz musicians, created ‘Hyejin Yoon & Brothers’, She has made new attempts to maximize the spectrum that 'jazz flute' can show in composing, arranging, and playing with her belief. She is creating a unique music world with flourishing creativity transcends genres based on teamwork with piano Mijung Lim, guitarist Soojin Lee, bassist Inyoung Kim and drummer Sangmok Oh.
In addition to her activities in various jazz teams, she is also a leader of the Brazilian music team 'Tudo Bem' (aka Desejo Insatisfeito) and has recorded albums of Lucid Paul, John Park, Yun Jong Shin, and Kai and Yoon Do Hyun, Park Jung Hyun, Gummy, Ali and so on. In the summer of 2017, Hyejin Yoon & Brothers released their first album, [Hyejin Yoon & Brothers Jazz Flutism], getting high praised by critics.
This year's Jarasum her team will feature a new universe music from the first album as well as a collection of music from the beautiful districts to the wondrous universe. Hyejin Yoon, who draws a picture in the language of jazz unabatedly on the foundation of solid class with rich, deep tone, Mijung Lim who plays splendid performance as dancing, Soojin Lee, having a sense of sound making beyond the genre, Inyoung Kim who plays a solid, gorgeous and brilliant technique, and Sangmok Oh, a veteran interplays explosion that transcends warmth and calmness. The stage where five members breathe into one with energy will be happy to the audience.
