세련되고 감각적인 음악을 선보이는 폴란드 재즈 밴드
피아니스트 파벨 카츠마르츠크는 1984년 폴란드 문화예술의 중심지로 손꼽히는 크라쿠프에서 태어났다. 2001년 빌 에반스(Bill Evans), 허비 행콕(Herbie Hancock) 등에 영감을 받은 KBD Trio를 결성했다. 이듬해 국제 청소년 콩쿠르 재즈 주니어스(Jazz Juniors)에서 우승했고, 브로츠와프에서 열린 재즈 온 더 오더(Jazz on the Oder)에서 그랑프리를 수상했다. 또한 KBD Trio가 2005년 발표한 앨범 [LIVE!]가 폴란드 TV 방송 2채널 어워드에서 올해의 앨범으로 선정됐다.
2007년 [Audiofeeling]을 발표한 이후 이를 확장한 파벨 카츠마르츠크 오디오필링 밴드를 결성해 2009년 [Complexity In Simplicity]를 선보였다. 파벨은 독일의 ACT 뮤직에서 발표한 이 앨범으로 토마스 스탄코(Tomasz Stanko)와 마르신 바실레프스키 트리오(Marcin Wasilewski Trio)를 잇는 폴란드 재즈 연주자로 주목을 받았다. 2015년 오디오필링 트리오로 [Something Personal], 2016년 디제이 Mr. Krime이 참여한 [Vars & Kaper: DeconstructiON]을 발표했다. 1930~50년대 영화 음악을 주제로 한 이 앨범은 어쿠스틱과 일렉트로닉, 고전과 현대를 넘나드는 독특한 해석으로 눈길을 끌었다.
자라섬재즈페스티벌에서는 베이시스트 Michal Baranski, 드러머 Tomek Torres, 디제이 Mr. Krime 이 함께 한다. 세련되고 감각적인 음악으로 파벨 카츠마르츠크 퀄텟을 각인시킬 매력적인 무대가 될 것이다.

Paweł Kaczmarczyk is a Polish pianist, arranger, composer and sideman who regularly performs in every part of the World. He’s released four artist albums and the next two are already being recorded. His LPs have received a lot of recognition including two nominations for the most important awards of the Polish phonographic industry as well as winnings in various polls.
Paweł doesn’t like to pigeonhole his sound and aims to avoid any boxes. “I want my music to move people - not only deeply, emotionally but also literally and physically. I want to grab my listeners out of their chairs and give them something they will not forget right after leaving my concert or turning off an album.” - Paweł Kaczmarczyk.
