아담 바우디흐는 폴란드의 바이올린 연주자다. 최근의 핫한 바이올린 연주자들이 대부분 그렇듯, 아담 바우디흐 역시 활뿐만 아니라 손가락으로도 연주한다. 두 가지 연주 방식을 자유롭게 오가며 현악기가 가지는 서정성과 긴장감 모두를 잘 구현할 줄 아는, 그러면서도 재즈라는 문법 안에서 가벼운 몸놀림으로 편안하게 음을 움직이는 연주자이자 작곡가다. 그의 레이블인 독일의 ACT에 따르면 “유럽의 새로운 재즈 스타”라고 불리는 아담 바우디흐는 젊은 나이와 인상 깊은 헤어스타일이 주는 선입견(?)과 다르게 거친 스타일부터 블루지한 톤까지 소화할 수 있다. 그가 선보이는 음악은 가벼움, 화려함과는 거리가 멀고 자극적인 신선함보다는 뛰어난 실력으로 강한 인상을 남기는 편이다. 여기에 함께 오는 헬게 리엔 트리오는 노르웨이의 다재다능한 음악가 헬게 리엔을 중심으로 한 노르웨이의 재즈 트리오로, 2001년에 첫 앨범을 발표한 뒤 일본의 재즈 레이블 DIW에서 세 장의 앨범을 발표하기도 했다. 이 트리오는 섬세하고 서정적이면서도 금방이라도 터져 나올 듯한 감성을 구현해낸다. ‘흐름의 조율’이라는 측면에서 아담 바우디흐와 헬게 리엔 트리오는 비슷한 장점을 공유하고 있는 셈이다. 이 둘은 지난해 ACT를 통해 발표한 앨범 <Bridges>의 조합이기도 하다. 앨범에 수록된 곡 대부분은 아담 바우디흐가 작, 편곡하였으며, 흥미롭게도 마지막 트랙은 영국의 트립합 밴드 매시브 어택(Massive Attack)의 ‘Teardrop’을 재즈로 커버했다. <Bridges>에서는 헬게 리엔 트리오가 구성하는 섬세하고 서정적인 느낌 안에 아담 바우디흐가 긴장의 흐름을 쌓아가며 서로의 특성을 뚜렷하게 드러낸다. 하지만 때로는 둘의 스타일이 아닌, 그와 전혀 다른 경쾌한 분위기를 꺼내기도 한다. 어느 정도의 경력과 시간을 보낸 밴드와 떠오르는 스타의 조합은 일반적인 예측과 전혀 달리 오히려 안정적인 느낌에 가깝다.

At the age of 16, Adam started performing internationally. Boy who first called "a child prodigy" evolved to being named one of the most interesting jazz violinists in Europe. Bałdych "has, without doubt, the greatest technique of any jazz violinist alive today", but except his virtuosity, he is also appreciated for his original sound and compositions. Adam Bałdych consciously refers in his music to polish tradition and blurs the differences between classical and jazz music. Adam Bałdych recorded his first and second album for the prestigious label ACT MUSIC and his European debut opened the continent's most important jazz stages. He was invited to perform at the biggest jazz festivals in Europe. He was nominated several times and won many awards including ECHO Jazz 2013.
Helge Lien, jazz pianist and composer, holds a master degree in music from the Norwegian Academy of Music. The core of Lien’s work has since 1999 centered on the Helge Lien Trio, consisting of the classical jazz constellation piano, bass and drums. In 2008 the trio won the Norwegian Grammy for their album
Together with the Helge Lien Trio and Adam Bałdych, they released <Bridges> which is full of melody and outstanding musicianship in 2015. In their albums, they play music combining the influences of jazz, Polish and Norwegian folk and popular modern music.
