풍부한 감정과 열정적인 멜로디, 다양한 선율을 담은 유지니아 최 트리오
재즈 피아니스트이자 작곡가인 유지니아 최(Eugenia Choe)는 뉴욕의 명망 있는 New School에서 재즈를 전공하고 그녀만의 독특한 작법으로 즉흥연주를 발전시켜왔다. 밴드 연주자이면서 반주자이기도 한 그녀는 뉴욕의 젊고 실력 있는 연주자들과 함께 여러 무대를 함께 해왔으며, 2016년 4월에는 첫 데뷔 트리오 앨범인 <Magic Light>를 발표하기도 하였다. 이 앨범은 한국인 연주자로서는 최초로 유러피안 레이블인 Steeple Chase에서 발매되었다. 앨범 속 음악들은 풍부한 감정을 토대로 하여 열정적인 멜로디, 복잡한 리듬을 통해 다양한 선율로 펼쳐진다. 그리고 그 위에 그녀의 독특한 음악적 작법이 더해지며 이 앨범의 음악은 완성되었다. 이번 자라섬에서는 오랜 시간 함께 연주해 온 베이시스트 Danny Weller와 드러머 Alex Wyatt가 함께 한다. 이 트리오는 서로의 연주를 누구보다도 잘 이해하는 멤버들로 구성되었으며, 가장 이상적인 형태의 피아노 트리오 음악을 들려줄 예정이다.
Rich emotions and passionate melody, various tunes by Eugenia Choe Trio
Jazz pianist and composer Eugenia Choi studied jazz at the prestigious New School in New York and has developed an improvisation of her own unique manners. She is also an accompanist while performer has been with a band for several stage with young and talented musicians in New York, also released the first trio debut album <Magic Light>, April 2016. The album was released as the first Korean player in the European label ‘Steeple Chase Records’. The music in the album as they unfolded through with passionate melodies and complex rhythms on rich emotional basis. And, her unique musical manners were added on top of the music of this album, completed the music. In this Jarasum, long time co-players Danny Weller on bass and drummer Alex Wyatt will be together on stage. The trio was composed of members who understand better than anyone of each other, will give a piano trio music heard in the most ideal form.
