삼형제의 진솔한 이야기, 이명건 트리오

'이명건 트리오'는 제5회 자라섬국제재즈콩쿨에서 '심사위원 특별상(Special Jury Prize)'과 '베스트 솔로이스트(Best soloist) 상'을 수상한 재즈피아니스트 이명건을 중심으로, 2008년 베이시스트 오재영, 드러머 김건영으로 결성된 팀이다. 2010년에는 제1회 맥(MAC) 재즈 콩쿨에서 단체부문 3위를 차지하였으며, 2012년 1월에는 멤버들의 창작곡을 중심으로 한 첫 앨범 <The Best Is Yet To Be>를 발표하며 '소년의 감수성과 거침없는 야성'을 통한 젊은 재즈 뮤지션들의 건강한 도발을 선보였다. 그 이후, 이명건 트리오는 드러머 최요셉의 합류로 보다 다양한 음악적 실험이 두드러졌으며, 2016년에는 멤버들의 꾸준한 공동작업과 아이디어를 통해 탄생한 2집 앨범 <피고지고>를 발표하였다. 이 앨범은 한국 사회를 살아가면서 느끼는 청년들의 꿈과 희망, 아픔과 고민, 그리고 우정을 그들만의 어법으로 풀어냈으며, 이번 자라섬 무대에서는 2집 앨범을 중심으로 한 음악을 선보일 예정이다.

True story of three brothers, Lee Myoung Gun Trio

‘Lee Myoung Gun Trio’ was formed centering jazz pianist Lee Myoung Gun, awarded as ‘Special Jury Prize’ and ‘Best Soloist’ at the 5th Jarasum International Jazz concours, with a bassist Oh Jae Young and drummer Gun Young Kim in 2008. The team was awarded as 3rd prize among group musicians at the 1st MAC Jazz Concours in 2010. In January of 2012, the team released their first album <The Best Is Yet To Be>, mainly consisting with their own composing, presenting ‘emotions of a boy and unstoppable wild nature’ of young jazz musicians’ healthy provocation. Since then, the trio was joined by a drummer Choi Joseph and the musical experiments were more presented, released the second album <Blooming and Falling> in 2016 after continuous group work and ideas. This album translated Korean young generation’s dream and hope, pain and worry, and friendship in their own language. At this Jarasum stage, the team plans to perform mainly their second album.
