전통적이면서도 모던한 사운드를 함께 겸비한 자신만의 색깔을 지닌 드러머

재즈 드러머 서미현은 전통적이면서도 모던한 사운드를 같이 겸비한 자신만의 색깔을 지닌 연주자이다. 여성최초로 독일에서 드럼으로 석사학위를 받았으며, 세계적인 독일 드러머 클라우스 헤슬러(Claus Hessler)는 그녀를 ‘에너지 있고 열정적이며 훌륭한 음악성까지 겸비한 뛰어난 연주자’라고 극찬하기도 했다. 한국 드러머 최초로 세계적인 드럼 커뮤니티인 <DrumTalk TV>에 소개되었으며, 미국 드럼 매거진 <Tom Tom Magazine>에 소개되기도 하였다. 또, 세계적인 악기회사 D'Addario (다다리오사)의 엔도져로도 활동중이다. 2014년에는 모든 곡이 자작곡으로 이루어진 첫 앨범 <Mischka>를 발매하였으며, 창의적인 발상과 열정적이면서도 섬세한 연주로 호평을 받기도 했다. 이번 자라섬 무대에서는 피아노 남경윤, 베이스 김대호, 바이올린 강이채, 비브라포니스트 크리스 바가가 함께하며, 이색적이고 리드미컬하면서도 감성적인 음악들을 선보일 예정이다.

A unique drummer who has both traditional and modern sounds

Jazz drummer Mihyun Seo has her own color of performance who has both traditional and modern sounds. She was the first woman who earned Master’s degree in Germany. The world-famous drummer Claus Hessler highly praised her as ‘an energetic and passionate drummer with excellent musical talent and skills.’ She was introduced to the world drum community <DrumTalk TV> and American drum magazine <Tom Tom Magazine>as the first Korean drummer. Now she is working as an endorser of musical instrument company D'Addario. In 2014, she released the first album <Mischka>, all music composed herself, was praised about creative approach and passionate still sensitive play. At this Jarasum stage, she will be performing with a pianist Kyungyoon Nam, bassist Daeho Kim, violist Echae Kang, and vibraphonist Chris Varge, presenting unique, rhythmical, and emotional music.
