핏 담 트리오는 룩셈부르크 출신의 드럼 연주자 핏 담을 리더로, 프랑스에서 온 색소폰 연주자 찰리 로즈, 그리고 벨기에 출신의 베이스 연주자 레나트 헤인델스 등 다양한 국적으로 구성되어 있다. 네덜란드 암스테르담에서 음악을 공부한 핏 담은 그곳에서 수많은 연주자들을 만날 수 있었고, 그중 가장 호흡이 잘 맞았던 지금의 동료들과 함께 트리오를 결성했다. 작곡에도 뛰어난 재능을 보이는 핏 담은, 올해 5월 발표한 핏 담 트리오의 첫 번째 앨범 <Omicron>을 통해 지난 2년간 꾸준히 작곡해온 그의 자작곡들을 다수 선보였으며, 그 밖에도 클래식부터 헤비메탈에 이르기까지 멤버들이 음악적으로 영감을 받았던 곡들을 자유로운 즉흥연주로 새롭게 연주했다. 리듬에 대한 창의적인 해석이 돋보이는 이들의 음악은 현재 유럽 컨템포러리 재즈의 최신 경향을 잘 반영하고 있다. 핏 담 트리오의 무대는 멤버들 간의 긴밀한 호흡이 돋보이는 재즈 트리오를 사랑하는 관객들에게 적극 추천한다.

Pit Dahm is a promising young drummer, multi-instrumentalist and composer. Born and raised in Luxembourg, after finishing classical as well as jazz studies in Luxembourg, he moved to Amsterdam in 2010 to pursue further his career. In 2012, he won the Prinses Christina Concours with the Floris Kappeyne Trio. Pit also won the Dutch Jazz Competition with the Loran Witteveen Quintet as well as ‘The Records’ of the Keep An Eye Foundation with Pol Belardi’s Urban Voyage and graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam.

Based in Amsterdam, Pit Dahm Trio, acoustic trio led by Pit Dahm, with Charley Rose on alto saxophone and Lennart Heyndels on the double bass unites a special mix of composed and free improvised music. Besides playing their own work, they also perform material by various composers they are inspired by. As Fans of various kinds of music from classical to heavy metal, the musicians manage to blend different emotions, feelings, thoughts and instincts into a coherent musical picture. The Pit Dahm Trio recorded its first album <Omicron>(2016), the result of their work in residence at Opderschmelz Luxembourg with the pianist Harmen Fraanje (NL). The album was released in May 2016 on the Slovak label Hevhetia and presented for the first time to the audience at the Like a Jazz Machine Festival in Dudelange (LU).
