The13th JARASUM INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL

조용원의 첫 번째 프로젝트인 YWCQ는 2012 뉴욕에서 결성된 밴드이다. 뉴욕의 로컬 뮤지션인 Bryan Campbell(guitar), Jan Kus(sax), Sean Pitzpatrick(piano), Derek Grey(drums)가 밴드멤버였고, 정기적인 뉴욕 활동 후 첫 앨범 YWCQ를 발표하였다. 이후 조용원은 한국으로 돌아온 뒤, 세계적인 재즈레이블 inner circle 아티스트인 피아니스트 배장은, 재즈피플의 라이징스타 색소포니스트 송하철과 드러머 채석우, 독보적인 재즈기타리스트 션 킴 등 다양한 세대를 어우르는 새로운 멤버들의 조합으로 한국에서의 밴드 활동을 시작하였다. 2016년 4월에는 폼텍웍스홀에서 단독공연을 펼쳐 호평을 받았으며, 올댓재즈, 에반스, 재즈앨리, 아이해브어드림 등 국내 유명 재즈클럽에서도 정기적으로 연주활동을 하고 있다. YWCQ는 리더 조용원의 독특한 음악 세계가 담긴 오리지날 곡들을 연주하고 있다. 그의 작곡은 정통재즈를 기반으로 훵크, 락 등 다양한 요소들을 표함하고 있으며 배장은, 송하철, 션킴, 채석우의 수준 높은 해석들이 모여 새로운 그들만의 사운드를 만들어가고 있다. 이번 자라섬 연주에는 그동안 연주해 온 YWCQ의 오리지널 곡들과 다음 앨범을 위해 작업중인 신곡들을 연주할 예정이다.

The first project by Yongwon Cho YWCQ is a band found in 2012 in New York. Local musicians Bryan Campbell(guitar), Jan Kus(sax), Sean Fitzpatrick(piano), and Derek Gray(drums) as the members, released their first album YWCQ after regular performances in New York. After Cho came back to Korea, he started new band with artists from various generations such as world renown jazz label 'inner circle' artist pianist Jangeun JB, JazzPeople Rising Star saxophonist Hachul Song and drummer Seok Woo Chae, outstanding jazz guitarist Sean Kim. In April 2016, the team had individual performance and received great reviews, and performing regularly at nationwide famous jazz clubs such as All That Jazz, Evans, Jazz Ally, I Have A Dream. YWCQ is performing the unique original music by the leader Youngwon Cho. His music includes various elements such as funk, rock, and more. High level interpretation by team members are gathered making their unique sound. At this Jarasum, the team will perform YWCQ's original music and newly working music.
